I’ll be posting 110 New Esti-Mysteries this school year. If you are subscribed to the blog, I’ll let you know each time a new one is posted.

Leaping Numbers Season 3 Begins on February 2, 2026! To learn more watch this video.

How to Use Esti-Mysteries

  1. Use the blue links below to download the Esti-Mystery. Each one is a PowerPoint file. If you use Google Slides, just save the PowerPoint file into your google drive. Then open it with Google Slides.
  2. When you open the PowerPoint (or Google Slides) file you will see several slides. That’s because there are 3 choices with each Esti-Mystery.
    • No Chart Version – Start on Slide 2
    • A Version with a Chart to Write On – Start on Slide 8
    • An Animated Chart – Start on Slide 14. (This is the version I use.)
  3. Then be sure to play the slide show.
    • In PowerPoint: After you click on the slide you want to start on, click: Slide Show, then click: From Current Slide.
    • In Google Slides: After you click on the slide you want to start on, click: PRESENT

I just wanted to say “Thanks” for all that you offer us, teachers and students, on your site. I’ve been using your work for years and the students always, especially love Esti-mysteries. I teach French Immersion and love translating the clues for them! Thank you, again.

I am wondering where I can find more esti-mysteries past Oct. 2024. We do one every morning, and my students love it.

The January 16th 2025 Esti-Mystery for grades 1-3 has a clue that contains the hint “the answer is a part of this pattern 62, 64, 64…” I think you meant for the clue to read “the answer is a part of this pattern, 62, 64, 66”.

Regardless – all of my students love Esti-Mysteries!!! Thank you so much!!

Thank you so much for these resources! My grade 3 students come in from lunch and get settled soooo quickly to get going with what I call our math warm ups. =) I never preview the slides – so I’m always on my toes for which new vocab I may need to teach. Last time it was “the difference between”! Such a great way to build vocabulary and interest. I really appreciate these.
